In August of 2012, we opened as Mexico Wayne’s. Mexican fare and counter service. After being open for 6 days, we decided to go a different route… let’s bring the awesomeness of Short’s Burger & Shine, downtown, to the East Side of Iowa City. So, in October of 2012, we opened Short’s Burgers – Eastside. We carry the same menu as the downtown location, but additionally carry a kids menu, salads and a small but very tasty Mexican section. Our beef comes from the Ed Smith farm, located in Columbus Junction, Iowa and is delivered fresh – never frozen. Our fries are hand-cut daily and seasoned to perfection – a perfect side to any of our gourmet burgers, chicken sandwiches and black bean burgers. We have 8 taps behind the bar, all with Iowa Beers. We have plenty of parking at this location, so stop out and let us make your day!
